Product Improvement Transaction List Display?

If your business type is 'Non-Profit', each invoice TYPE is listed as 'Pledge'. This is incorrect for our type of 'Non-Profit' as it is NOT a charity. The TYPE listed should be the FORM NAME shown on the template as that is the type of invoice that is being generated.

Product Improvement Transaction List Display?

You're correct, lukedouglas-comc.

Pledge is the form name of the invoice if your company is a Non-Profit Organization.

We can open the Pledge template and change the Form names from there. Let me guide you with these steps:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Custom form styles.
  2. Find the pledge template and click Edit.
  3. Go to the Content tab.
  4. Click the header section.
  5. Tick the Form names box and enter Pledge.
  6. Click Done.

Doesn't work.

Here is a screenshot of the edit:

Here is the account listing where it still shows 'Pledge'.

Product Improvement Transaction List Display?

I appreciate your time getting back here, lukedouglas-comc.

When you select a non-profit organization from the Tax form, pledge will appear as the default type. Changes made on the Form name only affects the template for your sales forms.

To change what you see in the Type column, you'll want to toggle the company type to a different tax form.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear Account and Settings.
  2. On the left panel, click Company.
  3. Select Company type, and change the Tax form from the drop-down list.
  4. Click Save and then Done.

Please see the sample screenshots below:

Product Improvement Transaction List Display?

I can't change the business type and I shouldn't have to simply to get a correct name listed as type.

Honestly, whoever 'fixed' this name 'pledge' based on a Non-Profit 990 had NO understand on what kinds of Non-Profits there are.  I owned an accounting firm for 20 years with over 1K clients and I have filed dozens of 990 which were NOT charities but member based clubs.

This really needs to be corrected so the account transaction listing should show the template FORM NAME under the TYPE column.  After all, that is the name of the template which is used to generate invoices that are sent to members.

I really consider this as a 'bug' or, at the very least, a poor decision made by the development team.  FYI, I have been involved with application development since the 70's and have personally created programs with over 3M lines of code.  So I know this is a fairly simply fix as they can simply go to the code that checks the business type and lists 'Pledge', then replace it with a call to the template form used on the invoice to retrive the FORM TYPE name and use it instead.

Please elevate this to a decision making level.
