QBO Bank Transaction Downloads

Ever since the recent QBO update I am unable to properly download bank transactions from one particular bank that has four accounts and 2FA enabled . Before the recent QBO update the four accounts downloaded at once. Now I have to download each of the four accounts separately and sometimes wait 5 min or more for each acct to finish pinwheeling. Today required six download attempts to update four accounts and took approx 45 minutes to complete. I have the same problem using the QBO App so the problem is not web browser related. Intuit requires that I allow their staff to remote into my computer to see the problem. These are complete strangers who I have no reason to trust, and no reason to allow them to see my corporate finances. The Intuit data center was not too long ago compromised by Ransomware. So Intuit has denied the problem and told me to disable 2FA. In the Intuit lab they should be able to replicate the problem using any computer connected to test accounts. Intuit is an arrogant company more interested in taking your money than providing a stable program.

QBO Bank Transaction Downloads

I wish I could make it better, @adrask1n.

Transactions downloaded into QuickBooks is depended on the provided data transferred from your bank account. I want to ensure you can easily update and download your online banking transactions.

To start with, may I know the name of your bank account? This way, I can review our records to check if we have any reported issues with the bank account, the same as what you have.

Nevertheless, connection integration of your bank account in QuickBooks can be affected if your bank account made any changes on their end. With this, I'd recommend reaching out to them or checking their website to check for any updates.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about the steps you need to take if issues on updating your online transactions occur: What to do if you see a bank error or bank transactions won’t download.

Lastly, I've also included this helpful article in case you need a reference in reviewing, categorizing, and matching your online bank transactions: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Stay safe and comment below or post again if you have any other questions. I'll be here to lend a hand.

QBO Bank Transaction Downloads

Thank you for the detailed response. The bank is USAA. The problem started when the "Link Accounts" update was pushed to QBO. USAA states they have nothing to do with Quickbooks, and that their website is working perfectly. Their website is in fact working perfectly. One - Two years ago, AmEx did a security update of their website. Ever since I have been unable to download transactions from the second credit card I have on the same AmEx account. I have two credit cards on the same Chase Visa account and they download fine. Their is a bug in the QBO update that does not allow multiple accounts from the same financial institution to download when 2FA is enabled. Downloading transactions cannot be trusted to be accurate. I now have to login to each account and manually verify I have all transactions. All in it takes about an hour to update while waiting for "Update" to pinwheel. I am moving in the direction of manual download and upload.

QBO Bank Transaction Downloads

Hey, @adraskin1n.

Thanks for the clarification about your banking problem. Let's try a few basic troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue.

QuickBooks can load as a fresh new page to remove any error or glitches within the product when using a private browser or incognito window. Here's how:

  • Safari: Command Shift N
  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift
  • Internet Explorer/Firefox: Ctrl Shift P

If this works, then go back to your regular session and clear your browser's cache and cookies. If this doesn't help, then I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team so that they can take a further look with the advanced tools that they possess.

If there are  any other concerns that you may have, feel free to ask. I'm always here to lend a helping hand. Have a great day!

QBO Bank Transaction Downloads

I have cleared history and cache, and have tried incognito mode. I now use the QBO App which eliminates a web browser as a cause. QBO support denies the problem. It started during my first login after the "Link Accounts" QBO update. I thank you for trying to help.

QBO Bank Transaction Downloads

QBO cannot download AmEx transactions, on the second credit card, if you have two credit cards linked to the same account. QBO cannot properly download transactions if you have multiple accounts from the same financial institution and Two Factor Authentication enabled. It takes a good hour to download my transactions for seven accounts. You then have to login to each financial institution to confirm accuracy and balances. Since you have to login to each financial institution anyway, you might as well download and upload manually. Intuit refuses to acknowledge the problem or do anything to correct it. Security is not a concern at Intuit as their own data center was encrypted by ransomware. Their backup server(s) were also encrypted because they were installed on the same network as their production data center. QBO also limits the maximum length of a bank account password used to download transactions from a financial institution to only 12 characters. I am not 100% certain if that is still accurate. The problem with moving to a different accounting package: Sage, Xero, Freshbooks, etc is that we all lose our accounting history. I believe if you migrate from QBO to the desktop version you can generate a .qbw or .qbb and then import that into new software. I am still researching that. The money hungry abusive attitude of Intuit is the problem. Technical issues can be resolved if you want to...
