Shogo app and bank linking feature causing duplicate entries into QB sales account and QB checking account

Hello there, @john-thewellsfam.

You may have connected the same bank account to the Shogo app and QuickBooks. Thus, it downloads the same set of transactions. Let me guide you in removing these duplicates.

First, you'd have to decide whether to disconnect your Shogo App from QuickBooks or unlink your bank instead. This way, you'd avoid getting duplicate records. You can follow these steps to remove the Shogo App:

  1. Go to the Apps menu.
  2. Select My Apps.
  3. Click the Action ▼ drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Disconnect.
    • Note: If you can't find Disconnect in the menu, select Settings, then locate the Disconnect button on the settings page.
  5. Complete the short questionnaire.
  6. Select Confirm Disconnect to remove the app from your company profile.

Meanwhile. here's how to unlink your bank from QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu.
  2. Choose the Banking tab.
  3. Locate the bank account.
  4. Click the pencil ✎ icon.
  5. Select Edit account info.
  6. Mark the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
    • Note: If QuickBooks is downloading new transactions, you won't see this option. Wait a few minutes for the update to finish and try again.
  7. Click Save and Close.

Once you disconnect your bank account, all the uncategorized transactions listed under the For Review tab will be automatically deleted. You can refer to this article for more detailed steps: Disconnect or delete accounts connected to online banking.

On the other hand, you can purge QuickBooks Online data if it's less than 60 days. The system deletes all data entered into the company, and you're unable to restore or reverse them. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany.
    • Example: URL shows https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage, change to https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  3. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to be deleted.
  4. Enter the word “YES” once the data gets deleted.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Select Wipe Data once your selections are complete.
  7. Once completed, you will be rerouted to your home page.

Since you're using QuickBooks Online for 1.5 months, you'd have to cancel your account and start a new subscription. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Account and Settings under Your Company.
  3. Select the Billing and subscription tab.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.

Now, you can subscribe to a new account:

  1. Go to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.
  2. Fill up the User ID and password.
  3. You can use the same user ID and a password you previously had. If you activated payroll in the account, this is the best option for you.

You can read through this article for more information: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.

If your account is 30 days or older, it is better to open a new blank QBO account and cancel the old one.
