Receipts mobile snap feature

After I use the mobile snap feature to capture receipts, the images are processed and data extracted to the various expense fields for my review.   I don't like how the payee name is recorded in the "Description" field.  Is there a way to change this so that the payee name is recorded in the "Payee" field instead?

Receipts mobile snap feature

It's my pleasure to be your QuickBooks guide, @sarahthom24,

The system auto-fills the Description field using the Header of the receipt. See this sample illustration:

While the details uploaded into QBO is dependent on the scanned information on the mobile app, you can update any missing or incorrectly mapped fields directly in the For Review section.

Here's how:

  1. On your Dashboard, proceed to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the Receipts tab and locate the receipts to delete.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow then pick Review.
  4. Choose Edit receipt details then manually correct the information.
  5. Hit Save and close when done.

Receipts mobile snap feature

Am I able to take a pic of a bill and upload it from my phone on the app? I can with expenses, but I can't find the option for the bills.

Receipts mobile snap feature

Hi @keeganT,

The receipt capture feature is intended for receipts or expenses, as you stated above.

A feature that allows you to take a snap of bills and then records it in QuickBooks Online isn't available at this time. I can see how this would be very handy to you, and our other users alike. With that said, we've taken note of this idea.

You can visit this page from time to time, so you can learn what new features are released for QBO: The QuickBooks Blog.
