Reconciliation Corrections

I need to delete a deposit from a reconciliation 3 months back, and add the same amount as a transfer between accounts for the same date. How do I do this?

Reconciliation Corrections

Thanks for sharing your concern here, @liesle01. I've got your back on how to correct your reconciled deposits in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

To start, undo a reconciled period in QuickBooks. Make sure also to have your bank statement handy while doing the reconciliation corrections. To do so, follow these steps below: 

 

  1. Open your QuickBooks.
  2. Go to the Banking menu.
  3. Select Reconcile.
  4. On the Begin Reconciliation window, tap the Undo Last Reconciliation button.

 

This will undo the last period you reconciled. Keep repeating the provided steps above until you undo 3 months worth of bank statements. The next step is to delete the deposit. 

 

Here's how: 

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Choose the Reconcile tab.
  3. Find and click the deposit.
  4. On the Deposit page, right-click the deposit and select Delete deposit, and choose OK.

After, create the transfer: 

  1. Click the Banking Menu.
  2. Select Transfer Funds and then enter the Date.
  3. In the Transfer Funds From the drop-down, select an account.
  4. Choose your desired account in the Transfer Funds To drop-down.
  5. Enter the transfer amount.
  6. Click Save and Close.

Now that your done making the necessary changes, proceed with reconciliation
