What's happening: Chase has identified an issue with processing online bill payments from third party applications. Until the issue is resolved Chase has disabled online bill pay for third party applications. By turning off this service QuickBooks users may receive errors while attempting to send online bill payments or transfers.
What you can do now: If you receive an error while attempting either an online bill payment or transfer in QuickBooks please don’t attempt to re-submit as this may result in duplicate processing of the transaction. If you have duplicate online bill payments or transfers posting to your checking account please contact Chase for further support by calling 1-877-242-7372.
If you need to process online bill payments before this issue is resolved, you can do so directly through the Chase website.
To prevent errors, and continue to download transactions from Chase you can turn off Online Bill Pay with the following steps:
- Go to Lists > Chart of Accounts
- Right click on the bank account and select Edit Account
- Click the Bank Feed Settings tab
- Uncheck the box for Online Bill Payments
- Click Save & Close
Once the issue is resolved, you can repeat steps 1-3 and then check the Online Bill Payments box to resume using the service.
