Should QB always show suspected changed transactions when addressing reconciliation beginning balance problems?

We have a difference between the reconciled beginning balance and current beginning balance, probably due to changes. No transactions show up in the "repair" window.

Should QB always show suspected changed transactions when addressing reconciliation beginning balance problems?

Hi there, @allied_glass.

I'd be glad to help you see the transaction in the Reconciliation Discrepancy Report.

This report will show the previously reconciled transaction being deleted or unreconciled in the register. I've replicated this and found nothing wrong, the transaction that caused beginning balance discrepancy shows. Here's how it looks like:

For now, I'd suggest using an incognito browser to check if this is a data-related issue. If you're able to see the transactions, click View under the History column and get the details of the transaction. For more information about this process, you can check out this article and go to Step 3 - Review your account registerFix beginning balance issues during your first reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

Here are the shortcut keys to access a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox & Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Hold down + Option + P

Once you're changing the status to C of the transaction that caused discrepancy, you can go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. However, if you're still getting the same issue, you can use another supported browser.

I've added this article for your future task if you want to track a specific aspect of your business: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. This contains sub-articles such as how to customize and memorize your report.

Please don't hesitate to let me know in the comment section below if you need further assistance or any questions. I'd be happy to lend a helping hand. Take care always.
