Slow Rules Creation/Edit

Creating/Editing rules is soooooo slow.....it starts out fast but as you get down the list of rules it starts taking forever to open the rule to edit, anyone have a solution to this yet?  I see this going back as far as 2014 with no solution as of yet!!  It's a great feature for us bookkeepers but kinda pointless when you can't use in efficiently!!

Slow Rules Creation/Edit

Glad to have you here in the Community, BusinessConcepts.

Let's get your QuickBooks Desktop back up and running smoothly when creating or editing rules.

To improve the performance and prevent any delays in response time, ensure that your network setup is within these recommendations:

  • must have 4GB system memory (RAM) on your computer server
  • must use a Windows or Linux-based server computer, not a Network Attached Storage Device (NAS Drive)
  • must have a hardwired network (not wireless)
  • must have  Gigabit network cards, Gigabit-capable router or switch, and Cat6 networking cables

You can go through this recommended article for the detailed steps: Resolve QuickBooks Desktop performance issues: Manage your data file.
