Some bank accounts aren´t updating.

I've got the steps you can perform to get your updated bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @gabakusa

The program downloads the latest available transactions every night around 10 pm PT. Also, QBO relies on how your banks communicate with our system.

Here are the possible reasons some bank accounts aren't updating:

  • The banks are performing system maintenance.
  • There are notifications from their websites that need your attention.

First, let's manually update the bank accounts. This way, it'll refresh the bank connections to help sync all your transactions in QBO. I'll guide you how.

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Choose the blue tile for the bank account.
  3. Click Update.
  4. If prompted, enter your Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) credentials.
  5. Select Continue Update
  6. Repeat the process for the other bank accounts.

Second, the issue may be on the banks' ends if the manual updates don't work. I'd recommend signing in to their websites to check if there are alerts that need your attention, such as new security requirements. Just make sure to use the URLs you're using in QuickBooks. Once reviewed, perform another manual update.

Third, you'll have to update your bank info if you make changes to their websites. For the detailed instructions, see this article's Step 2Troubleshooting Guidelines For Missing Bank Transactions.

After that, let's go to the For Review tab from the Banking menu. From there, you can edit, assign, and categorize the transactions. You can also match them to the existing entries in the software. Doing so will help you ensure the accuracy of your financial records. For more information, visit this article: Categorizing Bank Transactions

Lastly, I want to make sure I've got your back. Can I ask for the specific banks you're trying to get their updated info in QBO? Also, did you receive any error message? To add some details, click the Reply button below. This way, I can provide further steps to resolve this.

I'll be right here to help if you need anything else. Keep safe always, @gabakusa

Some bank accounts aren´t updating.

Hello there, @Kirktarbet.

There are two possible reasons some of your accounts aren't showing and updating transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) as stated by my colleague. With this, I'd recommend checking out the steps provided above based on the stated reasons below:

  • The banks are performing system maintenance.
  • There are notifications from their websites that need your attention.

Once done, let's go ahead and update the appearance of your downloaded transactions (letters and amounts) font details from your browser settings. This way, you're able to have the right view in categorizing them in QBO. Here are the steps using the Google Chrome browser:

  1. Go to the Customize and control Google Chrome (three dots) icon located at the upper-right corner of the screen.
  2. Select the Appearance menu.
  3. Update all the necessary details like Font size, Customize fonts, and Page zoom from the Appearance section.

I've attached screenshots below for your reference.

After that, you can also perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate the unusual behavior of the system. You can first pull up your account using a private browser (incognito) page. Then, clear your cache and cookies to refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues.

When everything is all set, you'll have to review and/match your transactions to the existing entries in QuickBooks. This ensures the accuracy of your financial records. For the step-by-step guide, you can visit this article: Categorizing Bank Transactions. It also includes details about excluding personal or duplicate transactions.

Additionally, I'd recommend reconciling your accounts every month. This is to effectively monitor the growth of your business. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online. It also includes information about editing completed reconciliations.

Leave a comment below if you have follow-up concerns about managing bank transactions in QBO. I'll be around to help. Take care always.
