You can sort your checking account register by Transaction Date, Reference No, Type, Reconciliation Status, Payment and Deposit amount, including ascending and descending order. I can guide you on how to do it.
To sort by transaction date, here's how:
Go to the Accounting menu.
Choose the Chart of Accounts tab.
Select the checking account you want to sort.
In the Actions column, click View Register.
Hover your mouse on the name of the column you want to sort (i.e. Date).
To change the order of the transactions, click the drop-down arrow.
Repeat steps 5-6 for the rest of the columns.

Thanks for the reply, but please read my original post. I want to sort by "order entered", the order in which I entered the transaction into the register. Often, I find myself cleaning up the register, and entering transactions that occurred weeks before. I do not want them sorted by the date of the transaction. I keep a paper register, and I want it to match. This sort feature is in QB Desktop, but does not appear in QBO. This is just one more feature missing from QBO, VERY FRUSTRATING! Another missing feature, is the ability to split a transaction, without having to save it, then go back and reopen it and "edit" it. That is too many steps!!!!
