Sync with Etsy App created 2 separate bank accounts

Hello - I loaded the Sync with Etsy App and all went well for weeks.  I went in to my QB Online today and noticed I had 2 Etsy Bank accounts.   One was from Jan 1, 2021 - April 9, 2021 and the other one started April 10, 2021 to present.      I am not sure what to do.  It is like it created a new one.

Everything  looks good when I pulled a profit and loss report with no duplicates but I think it is odd to have 2 accounts.    I tried to rename it the same name  but  I got a message pop up that said "You already have an account with this name - Do you want to  "Merge" the accounts.  I am not sure what this means and I do not want to mess up what I  have worked so hard on.    I do love the Sync with Etsy App as this saves me hours each week.

I appreciate any help.

Sync with Etsy App created 2 separate bank accounts

Hi 1323 1058 60!

Thanks for explaining the scenario again and for checking the links shared by Rose.

Yes, you figured it out. Somehow, Etsy created a new account in QBO when you edited the bank name. Merging them is just right. This will not affect the transactions from both accounts. You will only end up having one account.

Sync with Etsy App created 2 separate bank accounts

UPDATE:  I think I MAY have figured out why I had 2 bank accounts with Sync With Etsy App.  A few weeks ago I edited my Sync with Etsy Bank Account Name info and all I can surmise is that it created a new bank account starting that day.   I did not catch it at the time. I decided to try to rename them the same name to once again get the merge option to come up - doing this merge action caused the two accounts to merge and from what I can tell all numbers stayed the same.

It may be totally unrelated to the name change but I think I solved my problem.

Sync with Etsy App created 2 separate bank accounts

Allow me to share some information on how Sync with Etsy App works in QuickBooks Online, 1323 1058 60.

When using the Sync with Etsy app QuickBooks creates accounts to your company. This is to ensure that the system knows where to deposit your sales and Etsy charges for your seller fees.

I'd suggest keeping the 2 separate bank accounts exactly as they are to ensure the app imports your Etsy transactions accurately.

For your reference: you can scan through this article: Import transactions from your Etsy shop into QuickBooks Online. This will give you in-depth details on how your transactions are imported in QuickBooks as well as tips in reconciling your Etsy account.

Additionally, in case you see duplicate transactions, you can follow the steps in this article to make adjustments: Make adjustments when you import past Etsy transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to ask if you need more help with this or have follow-up questions about QuickBooks. I'm always here to help you out. Have a great rest of your day!

Sync with Etsy App created 2 separate bank accounts

Hi Rose-A

Thank you for sharing this good information and links.   Prior to the creation of the 2 Sync With Etsy App Bank Accounts, I did have my Main bank account.  In my case when I tried to edit the name of my Sync with Etsy New Bank Account,  some how it created another bank account for Sync Etsy which started the date of name change  and the Original Etsy bank account only had Jan 1 - April 8 in it.  Now that I have merged them in to one bank account  Jan 1, 2021 to present day is all together now.   I still have my main bank account.   I hope I figured it out.  Just odd that it happened.  Not even sure if it was a ME error or an Sync with Etsy App error.  : )
