The view in banking has changed and I no longer see both quickbooks balance and actual account balance. Why?

Hi there, @revolutionoutdoo.

It could be the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources. It causes unusual behavior in the program. That's why you have no longer see both QuickBooks balance and actual account balance.

I recommend logging into your account using a private browser. This can help us determine if it's a browser-related issue due to stored cache. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

From there, go back to the Banking page to see if the bank and QB balances are showing. If yes, let's clear your browser's cache to have a clean slate, so it'll function efficiently. If not, use other supported web engines to get the best and most secure experience with the program.

Lastly, I'd suggest reading the topics in this link to get further help with bank feeds and reconciling accounts: Help Articles.

Fill me in if you have some clarifications. I'm always here to help you. Have a pleasant day.

I'm having this same issue and I've seen other people post the same question. I tried your recommendations and nothing worked. This was used as a good checks and balance and just happened (at least to my account) over the last week. What has changed and what can we do to get it back?

I appreciate you for performing the recommendations shared by my colleague, @Erica B.

We have recently updated our software with new features and layout in QuickBooks. You can now see the QuickBooks Balance and Bank Balance under Categories on the Transaction tab.

I've added a screenshot for visual reference.

Thank you so much. I'll refer to this page from now on. It was really nice to see it on the banking page but at least it's still available to see.

Is there any way to be able to vote on this change and future changes? I feel like it's a step backwards and it causes extra clicks, whereas the last view was more efficient.

Thanks!

Thanks for following along with the thread, @mwburkeinc. I’ve got some updates about these features in QuickBooks Online.

If you want to view the QuickBooks and Bank Balance, you can go directly to the Banking Page.

Please see this sample screenshot for reference:

Alternatively, you can also go over the Dashboard. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Dashboard from the left pane.
  2. Select Business overview.

To know more about the functionality of the dashboard, feel free to review this article: Get started and adjust settings after you sign up for QuickBooks Online. It also includes steps on how to set up your company and manage users.

When everything is all set, you'll want to check out these articles for further guidance on how to categorize your transactions and reconcile your account flawlessly:

Good morning! The Banking Page does not show this for me. It is a drop-down menu containing all of our bank accounts. See below.

Good to see you here, mwburkeinc.  I'm here to help you get past this issue.

To start, we can perform some basic troubleshooting to see if it's a browser issue or not. This way, you can clear the outdated file that causes a small problem with your bank feeds. Please open your QuickBooks via a private browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Command + Shift + N (Safari)
  • Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox)

If it works, you can clear your regular browser's cache so QuickBooks' history can start fresh. But if you get the same results use a different browser app instead.

Also, I'm unable to see an attachment on your post, could you try sending this again?

Thanks, but this doesn't help.

I found out from someone else that it's a small, gray arrow under the Explore button. Had no idea it was there. Now I'm back to normal!
