Join nowJust switched from QB Mac to QB online. I noticed my bank page online doesn't have any bank rules. Is there a way to migrated my bank rules from mac to online?
Thanks for posting to the Community, @georgeDN.
It's my priority to help you migrate QuickBooks Desktop for Mac to QuickBooks Online. However, I'd recommend setting up new Bank Rules in QBO manually since we're unable to convert the bank rules from the Mac to the online version at this time.
Here's how:
You can also check out the limitations when migrating from desktop to online.
Feel free to ask more questions if you have other concerns with QuickBooks Online banking. I'll be here to answer them for you. Take care.

Here's how:
- Click Transactions/Banking on the left panel.
- Go to the Bank Rules tab.
- Click the New rule button from the upper right-hand corner.
- Enter the details of the rule.
- Click Save.

I want to know if I can transfer all my banking rules from QB Desktop Mac to QB Online. It appears all my downloaded bank transactions have to be done all over again, for each and every one. This seems unnecessary and tedious to have to do all at once, when they are all set up on my desktop version.

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @georgeDN. Allow me to chime in and clarify things for you.
I can see the importance of transferring all your banking rules from QB Desktop Mac to QB Online. However, this option is currently unavailable.
As an alternative, you can set up new bank rules in QuickBooks Online before importing banking transactions. To create one, here's how:
QuickBooks automatically applies your rules to transactions in the For Review tab. For more information, please check out this article: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, let me share this article to help review downloaded bank and credit card transactions and put them in the correct accounts: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for the response. All my banking transactions got dowloaded as I signed up for online banking w QB Online. So they are already there. Is there a safe way of deleting them all? Would this be easier? Thanks again.
