Re: Undo a Reconciliation

Greetings, @rubesirene.

I can share some ways to ensure you have accurately reconcile your accounts in QuickBooks Online. Let’s get started!

Since you’ve incorrectly enter the date during the reconciliation process, you have two options to fix your reconcile date:

  • If you haven't completed or closed your reconciliation yet, you can still change the date of the statement. Here's how:
    1. Click Accounting.
    2. Select Chart of Accounts.
    3. Look for your bank or credit card account.
    4. Under ACTION column, click View register.
    5. Select the Reconcile button.
    6. Click Edit info.
    7. Hit the Save button to confirm the changes made.

  • But, if the reconciliation process is completed, you can no longer modify the date of the statement. Here's what you can do to fix your reconciliation date:
    • Leave the reconcile date as is. Just a heads-up though, entering an incorrect beginning and ending reconcile date doesn't affect any balances and will not prevent you from future reconciliation.
    • Un-reconcile and then re-reconcile with the correct end date.
