Uploading the statements in .txt format

You need a 3rd party app to import it. Does your bank offer bank statements in other file formats? e.q qbo, pdf, csv

Uploading the statements in .txt format

Thanks for turning to the Community about your banking concern, Katya N.

In addition to @Fiat Lux - ASIA answer, the error indicates that the mapping of your file is incorrect. You’ll have to use a supported file type and format to successfully bring your bank statements into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Also, the online program imports QBO, CSV, and QFX formats. When performing this process, QuickBooks requires either 3 or 4 columns. The former has the Date, Description, and Amount. While the latter contains the following information: Date, Description, Credit, and Debit column.3 column.png

For more details, you can browse this article: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks. It includes tips on how to fine-tune the formatting for your bank or credit card accounts.

After mapping the CSV file, you can start uploading your bank statements into the online program. In case you encounter any hurdles in bringing in your bank data to the program, this resource contains solutions on how to fix them: Common errors for importing bank transactions.

For future reference, the banking guide contains articles that will guide you on how to classify downloaded entries, match them to the existing ones in your company, make deposits, reconcile your account, and so on.

Let me know in the comment section below if you still need assistance uploading your bank data. I’ll be glad to lend a helping hand. Enjoy the rest of the day.
