User limited access to Banking

Hello there

We would like add a new user to QBO who will be given only view access to the Banking tab.  When I went and checked in the add users tab, there is option for customers and vendors but none specific only to Banking.  Could you please assist?

User limited access to Banking

It’s nice to see you here in the Community, @savita-clearnexu. Allow me to share some information about your query.

In the meantime, the View Only feature is currently unavailable for QBO. You can consider using a custom Standard user type. It allows you to choose specific areas where your employees can access your QuickBooks Online company.

Here’s how you can set up the user permission:

  1.  Tap the Gear icon at the top and then choose the Manage Users under Your Company.
  2. On the Manage Users page, go to the User section and then select Add user button.
  3.  Tick the radio button for Standard user under the Select use type section and then click Next.
  4.   Mark the radio button for Limited and then pick which area in the company you want the employee to have access to.

For visual reference, you can refer on the screenshot below.

   5. Press Next to proceed.
   6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

An email will be sent to the employee once everything has been completed. Inform them about it and encourage them to click the "Ready to get started? Let's go!" link to accept the invitation.

Additionally, you can also consider using QuickBooks Online Advanced. This subscription has the most flexible user permission available for QuickBooks Online.

In case you’ll be using QBO Advanced, you might want to give this article a visit. It’s about how to Add and manage custom roles in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

To wrap this up. I’ll be leaving these links for more information about User roles and access rights and how to add and manage users in QBO.

Feel free to comment down below if you have any additional QuickBooks related questions. I’d be more willing to help you get the right answers. Keep safe and Stay hydrated.
