WebConnect fails when attempting to download sub-accounts

Hi, I'm trying to use QuickBooks 2018 Desktop with my Bank of America credit card accounts.


We have a business credit card that apparently has a top-level account number with two sub-accounts, each of which have their own account numbers. I can access the account owned by me, but not the other sub-account owned by 


It's possible to "webconnect" to the main account, but only my main sub-account is accessible, and not the other sub-account that's also part of the top-level account.


It should be possible to download from both sub-accounts to download all transactions from the account, not just mine.

I'm here to share some information about connecting your credit card sub-accounts in QuickBooks Bank Feeds. 


You can connect your credit card sub-accounts for the same Financial Institution as long as you are using the same login credentials for them. To do this, set up the same account similar to the other credit card account. here's how:


  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Choose Bank Feeds.
  3. Once done, click on Set Up Bank Feeds for an Account.
  4. Enter your credit card name.
  5. On the Link your Accounts screen, select the sub-accounts you want to use for WebConnect.

If you're unable to perform these steps on your end, I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks support for additional assistance. They can help you set up the sub-account so you can import your bank data into QuickBooks. Here's how to contact us:


  1. On your QuickBooks homepage, go to the Help menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
