Wells Fargo direct link not working

The Direct link between Wells Fargo and QBO has been down since 03 July 2020. It's been a task having to enter the transactions manually. Links with other banks seem unaffected. Called WF and they said the issue was on QB's side and vice versa.

Anyone else experiencing this or with a solution for the same. Do assist.
Thanks.

Wells Fargo direct link not working

@MichelleBh and @Fiat Lux - ASIA

We Finally got hold of Wells Fargo. They mentioned that there was an update that affected the connection. They gave me a temporary solution. This as follows:

  1. Log into online banking
  2. Go to Basic Banking
  3. Select the bank account
  4. Select the date range. It is recommended not to include the current date since you might cut off some transactions that occur after the process.
  5. Click the download dropdown list and select Quickbooks (Web Connect). This will download the file.
  6. Log into QB online, go to banking,  select the account you want to update, click the "Link account" and select "Upload from File".
  7. On the next page, upload the Quickbooks (Web Connect) file and click "Next".
  8.  Follow the steps and finalize the process.

Kindly note that this will disconnect automatic updating of the bank account on QBO. This is to avoid duplication of the transaction.

I have attached screenshots for ease. Hope this helps anyone who encounters the same issue.

Cheers!

Wells Fargo direct link not working

Hi there, @SammyM.

I want to make sure you're able to can access your Wells Fargo bank in QuickBooks Online without any errors. The error message you're getting can often be a cause of some cache-related issues. We can perform some basic browser troubleshooting steps to fix errors in banking.

To start, let's use a private browser when logging in to QuickBooks. This will help us isolate if the issue is specific to the browser.

  • Google Chrome: CTRL  + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL  + Shift + P
  • Internet Explorer: CTRL  + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If this fixes the error, we can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache storage of your browser to prevent unexpected behavior in the product. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks support. They can guide and provide options on how to handle the specific situation you have.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Select Help at the top, then click Contact Us.

Thanks for your patience and please let me know if you have any questions. I’m always ready to assist. Have a good one.

Wells Fargo direct link not working

Hi There @MichelleBh

Thank you. We have tried all that i.e clearing cache, three different browsers, logging in from multiple locations and using VPNs.

Sadly the Help function of QBO is automated and was not helpful thus the post here hoping that someone else might have a solution for us.

Thanks.

Sammy
