Let's check to see why you got duplicate transactions, Brenda.
First off, please open each duplicate entries, and delete them. Click More at the bottom of the transaction page and choose Delete.
Secondly, let's do the browser troubleshooting steps and see if they fix this behavior.
Please log in to QuickBooks in a private window, and enter a transaction in your register. This blocks your browser's cache from saving new data. If won't duplicate, you can open back your regular browser and clear the cache. If it's the same thing, try using Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
On the other hand, the following situations can cause duplicates or can overstate your register's balance:
creating a check to pay a bill instead of going to the bill and clicking Make Payment
creating a deposit to pay an invoice instead of going to the Invoice page and clicking Receive Payment
adding a transaction from Banking instead of matching it to the existing transaction in QuickBooks
