When I start my monthly reconciliation, Quickbooks Online automatically selects transactions to reconcile. How can I turn off this feature?

I like how downloaded bank transactions are automatically categorized and/or matched, but when it comes to reconciling, the automated reconciliation is never accurate, and I need to go through it manually anyway. clearing all the checked transactions is simple enough, but if I start the reconciliation and then, for instance, remove the "statement ending balance" filter, then QBO once again automatically selects transactions to be reconciled, undoing the selections I just made.

Welcome to the Community, tcb22.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't have a direct way to turn off the automatic selection feature for reconciliations. QBO will automatically mark the items included in the selected statement date, and you'll need to manually uncheck it.

I can also see how this feature would benefit your business and the program. If you'd like this to be available in QBO, I encourage you to send
feedback to our engineers. Your suggestions can help them consider adding this feature in future updates. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
  3. Enter your suggestion, then click Next.

Furthermore, after you finish reconciling, you can view, print, or export your reconciliation report to maintain accurate financial data.

Return to this thread if you have additional questions about reconciliation.
