When selecting multiple tags the transactions only show one tag that has been chosen. Why is this? Shouldn't you be able to select multiple tags?

You should be able to use a few different tags to bring up the specific info you are looking for.

Good to see you here, akbrisson.

I'm here to make sure you'll be able to show the specific information in QuickBooks Self Employed.

There are times that the browser you're using has information stored that's stopping the information you need.

I've got some steps to help fix this issue. First, you'll have to sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account using a private browser. This helps isolate the issue since it doesn’t store data in the cache. Here are the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge:  CTRL + Shift + P

If it works, go back to your main portal and clear its cache to remove the browser's history. You may also try accessing your account using another supported browser.

Keep me posted if you have any other questions about QuickBooks Self-Employed. I'm always up to keep helping. Have a nice day!

This did not solve it. When I choose the first tag it works but when I hit a second or third tag it will not reduce the transactions to just the ones with all the tags. I am trying to use this feature so that I can find out which contractor for which property has done work and organize it that way.

Thank you for our prompt reply, @akbrisson. I’ll help you with adding multiple tags in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Yes, we can add multiple tags to any type of transaction if the tag doesn’t belong to the same group. Instead, tag it with ungrouped tags.

Here’s how you can create ungrouped tag.

  1. Got to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Manage tags.
  3. Select, Create new tag tab.
  4. Enter the Tag Name and select Ungrouped option.

You also have an option to ungrouped the other tags in QBSE.

Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Manage your tags menu.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow beside the group.
  3. Choose the tag you want to ungroup and click the Edit button.
  4. Click the dropdown arrow in the Group tag to ungroup the tag.

Let me know if you need further assistance with adding tags. Have a great day!

When selecting multiple tags the transactions only show one tag that has been chosen. Why is this? Shouldn't you be able to select multiple tags?

All of the items have been un-grouped and it still showing other tagged transactions. Is there another way to get it or am I missing something when trying to reduce the transactions based on the tags? It seems to me I should be able to click the tags button on the top line above transactions and select a few tags, then it shows me those transactions. Thanks

Hello there, @akbrisson. Let me clarify some details about multiple tags in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

If you have already set up the tags for your transactions, then you can follow these steps to show the tagged transactions:

  1. Click the Tags button.
  2. From the dropdown arrow, select the specific tags.
  3. Tick the box beside the tag name.

Once done, it will display the transactions associated with the tags you've selected.

If the issue still persists, I recommend contacting our QBSE support team. They have the tools to check your account and investigate it further.

If you have further questions or concerns about tags in QBSE, feel free to reach back out anytime. Just click Reply and I'll get back to you. Have a good one.
