Where can I find credit card payments? They're not appearing in a bank account, and they're messing up my recon. Why would they be hidden? I performed a master search.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @calvingooley.

You can view your monthly statements in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to see the credit card payments deposited to your bank account. Let me guide you how.

  1. In your QBO account, click the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Payments menu, then go to the Documents section.
  3. From the Monthly Statements drop-down, select the month you want to view.
  4. Click View.1.PNG

If you can't see the credit card payments from the statement, let's check the deposit speed. This way, you'll know when QuickBooks deposits customer payments into your bank account. It's possible that the payments weren't deposited into your bank account. Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Payments menu.
  2. Check the Deposit Speed section.2.PNG

Hi Mark,

Sorry, I was not clear.

Credit card payments made from my business checking account (linked in QB OL) to my business credit card (also linked) do not appear on registrars or in transactions.

Ideally, these would appear as a transfer between the two accounts. They do not currently, and therefore my reconciliations do not align with my paper bank statements provided by my banking institution.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for the reply.

I was referring to credit card payments, made from my linked business checking account to my also linked business credit card account.

These do not appear at the moment in the registers or in transactions, and therefore my reconciliations do not match my paper statements provided by my banking institution.

Why would they be missing from transactions?

I thank you for clarifying your concern, @calvingooley.

Let me share some information so you'd be able to manage your credit card transactions in QuickBooks.

You can try updating your bank account. This will pull up any transactions that have cleared since the last automatic download.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Select the Banking tab.
  3. Choose the bank account you used to pay your credit card account.
  4. Click the Update button.
  5. Pick Update Now.
  6. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials.
  7. Click Continue Update.

Once completed, you can look for the credit card payments in the For Review. Just make sure to record it as a Transfer

  1. Go to Banking menu.
  2. Click the credit card account you need to transfer the payment from.
  3. Locate and select the transaction in the For Review tab.
  4. Click the Record transfer radio button.
  5. Choose the appropriate account from the Select Transfer account drop-down list.
  6. Add a Memo, such as "Transfer of the credit card payment".
  7. Click Record transfer.

On the other hand, you can also record your credit card payments manually in QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Go to the New (+) icon.
  2. Choose to Pay down credit card.
  3. Enter the credit card payment details.
  4. Click Save and Close.
