I've recently purchased QuickBooks Pro 2016 for an African branch of an international organization. I'd read some reviews, and then just purchased a downloadable version on Amazon. I've been disappointed to learn that my version does not support multi-currency. While I can technically create an account in a foreign currency, it is generally useless. I cannot make exchange entries transferring money between an account based in another currency.
Because this organization works with various African currencies, but reports in US Dollars, it's essential that we have multicurrency support. Additionally, because internet is unreliable in this part of the world, we must also have an offline version.
It seems QuickBooks has country-specific versions, and not all of them have multi-currency support. I've been unable to find an authoritative source comparing features.
Can anyone tell me where to find a fairly recent desktop version of QuickBooks that definitely has the multi-currency feature?

I am chocked that the French version of Quickbooks does not provide the option of setting up multicurrencies account: most French companies get international clients, and often accept payment denominated in other currencies than the euro (GBP, USD, etc). How come Quickbooks is not making this issue a priority? Like your competitor Xero, you must provide this multi-currency option asap, to your prospects and customers. I cannot join Quickbooks because, without the multi-currency functionality, your French version of your product is useless to me and my company!!! PLEASE TAKE ACTION ASAP!!!
Did you buy US QB Pro?
Go to Edit menu > Preferences, Multiple Currencies, Company Preferences tab. The tool is right there.
