Hello there, @nacs2013.
There are two ways to adjust the width of your sales forms' columns. Let me share them with you and help you from there.
First, you can adjust it via the Customs Form Styles page. Here's how:
The other way is to manually adjust it on the sales form page. Just ensure to hover your mouse on the line dividing the columns. Then, wait for the mouse cursor to turn into a splitH arrow.

This is a great question. I doubt anyone will give you satisfactory answer you want.
For QBO actual users able to adjust column widths while using the form makes your job make much easier. All they have to do is come up with adjustable column widths on various forms that you actually use the most, that's INNOVATION. Unfortunately, Intuit's QBO is not, sorry!
I understand how to adjust column widths on forms. But on other screens like journal entries, deposits, etc where I would like to widen the column width for "Class" for example, QBO only allows me to change certain column widths and not others. And when I do change the column width, it will not allow me to adjust it after I adjust the initial time.
Hi there, nacs2013.
The total space is limited. If one column has a lengthy width, others will adjust. This is why QBO will not allow few changes on other columns.
I'll take note and send this feedback to our product engineers. Also, I'm inviting you to check our QuickBooks Blog so that you'll get updated of the newly released features.
