Join nowI have (i think) a similar problem. The total on the master account is correct and ties to the actual CC balance. However, the individual CC accounts (there are 5 sub accounts that are directly tied to the bank) show various balances that do not add up to the master account total. I assume this is because the payments post to only 1 of the CC accounts, and the other accounts continue to have a balance moving forward (since QB seems to believe that they are unpaid and 1 of the Cc accounts is "overpaid", but I'm confused as to why the totals don't seem to add up to the true balance due.
I would love to post adjusting entries to clean this up, although my balance sheet ties just fine since the master account totals correctly. I can't post a JE since the sub account balances do not total to the master account balance.
Am I worried about something that does not matter? Could it be that the beginning balances have somehow gotten out of whack?
Thanks for bringing this one to our attention, imovsh, and TylerL.
When you're using Chase, we can connect more than one account. For multiple credit cards, it's recommended to have one account as the parent/reconciliation account and any other accounts should be set up as sub-accounts. Only the sub-accounts should be connected through online banking. This action will allow the charges on the individual cards to funnel up to the parent account, where you will apply for payments and reconcile. See About bank or credit card sub-account setup article for more details about this one.
Since Chase sub-accounts are not syncing in QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can refresh the online banking connection by performing a manual update. Here’s how:
You can use the How to manually update bank accounts article for the detailed guide. Then check if the transactions in the Blue tile increase. If nothing new is downloaded, we can use the WebConnect feature to fetch new data.
Once done, contact our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. You may send a message via chat, call us at a time convenient to you, or we’ll get in touch with you instead. To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. Thank for replying. Does this mean I have to disconnect from parent account and only connect sub-account?
Thank you for following up with us, @imovsh.
Connecting an account to QuickBooks depends on how you want your bank to send the downloaded transactions.
If you have multiple accounts and want to download the transactions to the individual accounts, then connect the sub-accounts and disconnect the parent one. On the other hand, if you want your transactions to download to one account, then connect only the parent account.
For more tips about managing bank or credit card account setup, you can open this article.
Just in case you're unable to connect your account, you can get your transactions from your bank and manually import them into QuickBooks Online. For more details, you can open this link: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Thank you, Angelyn_T.
I had only parent account connected and only parent transactions were syncing with QBO. I had spoken to one of the QBO agents and was prompted to connect any sub-accounts I have which I did with an agent's help. But sub-account's transactions are still not syncing.
There are possible reasons why transactions are not downloading, imovsh.
I do appreciate your time in contacting our Phone Support to get direct help in connecting your sub-accounts into QuickBooks. The system automatically downloads transactions up to a certain date depending on what your bank provides. You'll want to visit your bank's website and check your account for any messages, notifications, or alerts that might have blocked QuickBooks to get the latest transactions.
If you have a specific error encountered while manually updating the connected sub-account, you can check out this link for reference: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online. Meantime, you'll want to manually import your bank transactions as suggested by my colleagues.
Keep me posted If there's anything else that you need help with. Take care and have a great day!
That is pathetic. I want my Parent and all associated sub accounts syncing at the same time on the same account. Having to fill these accounts manually is a PITA. The sub accounts always reflect 0.00 balance. Whjhat is the point of having QBO if you have to do these manually??
