Add and use barcodes in QuickBooks Commerce

Learn how to add and use product barcodes in QuickBooks Commerce web and mobile apps. 

In QuickBooks Commerce, you can enter your product barcodes and easily use them when you create a sales or purchase order. You no longer need to manually enter your product SKUs. Here’s how.

Important: Make sure you have a printer and scanner to generate barcodes. You can use a USB barcode scanner or any of the bluetooth Socket Mobile barcode scanning products.

Add barcodes

  1. Go to the Inventory menu, then select Products.
  2. Select the variant.
  3. In the Barcode (UPC, GTIN, etc.) field, scan the barcode.
    Note: Your barcode numbers must have at least 6 digits or are EAN13/UPC barcodes.
  4. Save the changes.
