Print barcodes

Learn how to install and use the barcode printing app in QuickBooks Commerce.

The barcode printing app in QuickBooks Commerce lets you print barcodes straight from purchase orders, product variants, and batches, making it easy for you to manage your operations and inventory. Here's how to get started.

Step 1: Install the barcode printing app

Installing the barcode printing app will add new interaction to your QuickBooks Commerce account.

  1. In QuickBooks Commerce, select Browse Apps.
  2. On the Browse Apps window, select Made by Commerce.
  3. Look for the Barcode Printing app by scrolling down or typing it in the search field.
  4. Run and install the Barcode Printing app.
  5. Select Authorize to allow access to your account.

Step 2: Use the barcode printing app

Now that you have the app installed, you will find barcode printing integrated in QuickBooks Commerce.

In Purchase Orders

  1. In QuickBooks Commerce, go to Stock Control, then select Purchase Orders.
  2. From More Actions ▼ dropdown menu, select Print Barcodes.
  3. Select which product variants you want to generate barcodes for. Note: Any variants without barcode values will be grayed out.
  4.  Choose barcode style, type of printing format, and label. Note:The quantity is determined by the number of items in the Purchase Order.

In Product Variants

  1. In QuickBooks Commerce, go to Inventory, then select Products.
  2. From More Actions dropdown menu, select Print Barcodes.
  3. Select which product variants you want to generate barcodes for. Note: Any variants without barcode values will be grayed out.
  4. Choose quantity, barcode style, type of printing format, and label. 

In Product Batches

  1. In QuickBooks Commerce, go to Inventory, then select Batches.
  2. From More Actions dropdown menu, select Print Barcodes.
  3. Select which product variants you want to generate barcodes for. Note: Any variants without barcode values will be grayed out.
  4. Choose quantity, barcode style, type of printing format, and label.
