Connect a new account to online banking
Follow these steps if you're connecting an account for the first time. If your bank already uses OAuth, you'll have the most up-to-date connection.
Update existing accounts connected to online banking
Once you get an email or notification, your bank is ready to switch to OAuth:
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online in a web browser.
- Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions (Take me there).
- Find the notification and select Update now. This takes you to your bank's website.
- Sign in as the primary account user and authorize the connection. Learn more about who can set up OAuth.Follow the on-screen instructions to switch to OAuth.
Once you agree to switch, we'll take care of the rest. Your bank sends us a data token so QuickBooks can start downloading your transactions. We'll use this token instead of your sign-in info to make the connection.
This way, even if you make changes on your bank's website, we can still download your transactions.
