Let me step in and provide you information about the accountant's copy.
If you're trying to open a regular company file, you can open it using the same edition in QuickBooks Desktop. However, if it's an accountant's copy type of company file, you'll have to look for an accountant version of QuickBooks Desktop.
There is no QBD Pro Accountant. Company only offers QBD Premier Accountant and QBD Enterprise Accountant. Any company file (QBW, QBB, QBM) created on QBD Pro, Premier, or Premier Accountant is compatible to each other as long as they are the same year version. Make sure both of you are using the same country version. Install the trial license of QBD CA/UK version to verify it.
