Add Credit Card and Deposit to Icon Bar

Allow me to walk you through the steps on how to add a Deposit and a Credit Card icon in your Icon bar. This way, you can easily access them in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software. 

To add a Credit Card icon in your Icon bar:

1. Open your QBDT software.
2. Right-click anywhere on My Shortcuts menu and click Customize Shortcuts.
3. Click Add.
4. Select Credit Cards and click OK to add it to your Icon bar.
5. Then click OK when done.

    

Then to add a Deposit Icon Bar:

1. Go to the Banking menu.
2. Select Make Deposits.
3. Click the View menu and select Add “Make Deposits” to icon Bar. 
4. Then click OK.

Additionally, you can also change the placement of your Icon Bar. Just go to the View menu and select either Top Icon Bar or Left Icon Bar.

Thanks for this. I think I made one error. I don't need that credit card added – that seems to be for receiving payments via credit card. I just wanted an icon to add credit cards charges manually (to a credit card account – like writing a check for a bank account).

Regarding the deposit issue – it seems a poor choice to have to mouse to a drop-down menu when the function could just be placed on the icon bar.

What is the method to get this feedback to the development team? Am I the only person who has raised this issue. We are a high transaction business, and like I said, mousing to a drop-down is not great – especially when the team took the effort already to make a customizable icon bar.

I'll surely take note of this suggestion. In the meantime, you can create bank deposits through the Banking menu. Another option for you to send feedback is to click No on this article and enter your feedback. Then, Submit.

It is. This has been a feature ("option"?) in QB Desktop for more than two decades.

Thank you SO MUCH for chiming in on this question. You nailed it! This was exactly what I was looking for.

I just wish the team members had the breadth of knowledge that you do.

It seemed like if a "short cut" bar existed, then anything should be able to be added. Now I can see that the developers took care of this a long time ago.
