Company file update

Hi all, I open my Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise today and it prompts me to update company file. What shall I do, just click "Yes" to follow the instruction? How often does this happen?

Questions seem silly, because I just ran this new system recently and not quite familiar with it. Main concern is no to mess up or break my company file in the system.

Anyone who comes accross this issue please help instruct what I should do. Thanks ahead!

Company file update

I'd like to share some information, @Johnny Zhang.

This message pops up when a QuickBooks update has been installed on your server. Not all updates require a Company File update, but most of them do. When this happens, and the day after the update has been applied to your server, the first person that opens your QuickBooks file in your company will receive this prompt.

Simply click "Yes", and allow the Company File to update, this process can take a few seconds to a few minutes or more, depending on the size of your QuickBooks Company File.

If you have multiple QuickBooks Company Files, you will have to update each of them as you open them for the first after a QuickBooks update has been applied on your server. You can read about our support policies here: Intuit QuickBooks Desktop software support policies

We can do the verify and rebuild data process to get rid of any data-integrity issues on your company file in QuickBooks Desktop. You might also want to browse these articles for additional information about the process:
