IN QB2020 Premier Pro Desktop, tried to condense 107MB file. Says it will drop out 14MBfrom the file, however, when I try to run it, I keep getting Error Message 80004005. Have no idea how to proceed. Probably fifteen years of data. Is deleting entries for prior years a better alternative?
Good morning, @JamesRaleighNC! I'm happy to see you reaching out to the Community for help on this issue. There's no need to delete any transactions in your account. Since you're using the Condense File option and receiving this error, I'd first recommend trying to rebuild the data.
Go to the File menu, then hover over Utilities and select Rebuild Data.
On the QuickBooks Information window, select OK. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
Let the tool repair your file. It may take some time but as long as you can move your mouse, the tool is working.
When the tool finishes, select OK.
Go to the File menu. Then hover over Utilities and select Verify Data.
