Credit card payments

Hello, I am new to QuickBooks and I am trying to send my customer an invoice so they can pay for the service I am billing them for. They want to pay using a credit card and when they click on the link nothing happens. Do I have to setup something to process credit card payments?

Welcome, @JSmith_Payments and thank you for coming to the Community for assistance. I have some insight on being able to receive credit card payments to pass along.

In order to receive payments from a credit card, you'll need to have a service to process these transactions. With a QuickBooks Payments Account, you can securely email an Invoice with a pay now button. You can provide your customer with the option to pay by Credit Card, Debit Card, Apple Pay and/or ACH Bank Transfer. It is up to you.

Thanks for reaching out to the community. You're on the right track - you do have to enable online payments to accept payments in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks is primarily accounting software, designed to handle and manage finances, but it has also several "front of the house" features, like credit card processing and payroll. This can be a bit confusing initially, but integrating them together makes these seemingly separate processes flow seamlessly.
