Customer set up

I am a mobile repair service. I do not have a brick and mortar shop.

For the most part (99%), my customers are recurring customers who get their units serviced on a regular schedule. But every now and then I will get a "walk in" who only wants a part for work they are doing themselves, basically making this an over-the-counter sale. These customers I will probably never see again, or if I do, it will likely be several years.

Rather than setting these customers up as unique customers, is it ok to create a customer called "Cash Sales" or "Occasional Sales" or something similar?

McDonald's doesn't ask for your name, phone number or address when you go in - even if you are a regular.

Pros? Cons?

Thanks

Thanks for checking this with us, QualGenSer.

Yes, you can setup a customer called Cash Sales or Occasional Sales rather than creating them individually. To achieve this, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Customers and click Customer Center.
  2. From the New Customer & Job.
  3. Fill in the necessary information and click OK.

When you create a transaction for one of the customers, you can use the Memo field to enter information for easy tracking. I've attached a screenshot for your visual guide.

Always get back to me if you need more help or have additional questions. I'd be happy to assist. Have a good one.
