Customer Types

I'm looking to add customer types to my existing customers. Is there a way to get customer type to show up with the basic info about the customer. Or would the only way to have certain things shown, is to put it in the notes of each customer?

I'm here to help you show up customer type on the customer's basic information, glConley.

You can assign customer types for individual customers on the customer information. To do this, you can follow the steps below.

  1. Select Sales, then select Customers.
  2. Find the customer. Then select Edit.
  3. Go to the Additional info tab and choose customer type from the drop-down.
  4. Click Save.

For more information, you can check out this article: Set Up And Assign Customer Types In QuickBooks Online.

You'll also want to run reports in QuickBooks Online to get the information that you need.

Customer Types

I'm wanting it to either show up whenever I click on the customers' account, without going to customer detail, or to appear whenever we create an estimate or invoice for the customer. Is there a way to get it to show that way, without making it a note instead?

Thanks for your swift reply, @glConley. At the moment, that's the only way we can add customer types for your customers.
