Debits & Credits entered backward in journal entry

My client entered about 50 journal entries with the debits and credits reversed. Is there a way to correct this without going into each journal entry?

Debits & Credits entered backward in journal entry

Having a feature where you can reverse the created journal entries in batches is unavailable, lisa17.

I'll be sure to submit a feature request on your behalf to our product engineers. We always update QuickBooks Online, and they might consider adding this option in the future.

Meanwhile, you can manually reverse the journal entries by editing the transaction one at a time. Once you open a saved journal entry, you will see a Reverse option at the bottom.

Here are the steps:

  1. Click the Gear icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Under Your Company, click Chart of Accounts.
  3. Click the View register link of the account where the journal entries are saved.
  4. Click Funnel icon and filter the Transaction Type as Journal Entry, and click Apply.
  5. Select the journal entry and click the Edit button.
  6. In the Journal Entry page, click the Reverse link located at the bottom.
  7. Click Save and Close.
