Favorite App

Hello Everyone!

I am a Quickbooks Pro advisor and I finally decided to check out what apps are listed in Quickbooks. I noticed that T-Sheets was free for proadvisors! Not only that, but you get a percentage if you refer clients. That is very cool. It got me thinking how many others there are that I do not know about. However, I had to click on every app and go to pricing to see anything about prices or who gets discounts etc.

It would be fantastic if we could search by price or see which have free trials etc. Which brings me to my question. What is your favorite app to use or what app makes your life the easiest? Are there other hidden gems that are free to proadvisors and/or offer the refferal bonus? The app doesnt have to be connected to Quickbooks. Would love other's opinions.

Right now, mine would have to be the google drive app. It helps share documetnation in my office and allows everyone to be connected since everyone has their own business gmail account.

Re: Favorite App

For me, Hubdoc.  You get a free subscription as a ProAdvisor.  If you do wholesale billing, you get bulk discount on their rates.  But I love that I can get bank statements and code bills to QBO thru it.  I also get .csv, check images, deposit details.  All things I would have to bug my clients for.

Re: Favorite App

Hey Jen (@JenPM),

I love perusing the app store. I agree, we need a "price sort" function on the search results page. I was just talking to @jhb74 and @ParkwayInc about timeclock apps and one of Jon's main criteria was the price. I had to dig through each app page to figure out which was the cheapest solution.

Do you know anyone on the ProAdvisor team? I will reach out to some folks here in Mountain View - more than one person has come onto the community asking about the QBOA client pricing discount, so there's definitely a need to house this type of information in one single place. Great project idea.

I like the WebGility app (@DustinT). I came from eCommerce startups - their app would have saved me a ton of time had it been available. I am a nerd and just appreciate great organization/workflows.

Personally, my favourite app for productivity is Evernote. There are lots of apps that do pretty much the same thing, but I like the interface and the sync between devices has never failed me. I often write notes on my phone and the Evernote browser client makes it really easy to copy them over into word documents.

Do you use iOS or Android? I guess its only natural, but the Google Drive App worked amazingly on my Galaxy (it was my pre-Evernote). It has issues on my iPhone - and it always kicks me out.

Do you ever use the integrated QuickBooks Google apps?

@lynda,

Thank you for reminding me about HubDoc. I'm actually working with the ProAdvisor team here to try and get a working document of the various perks that can live on the community :).

Re: Favorite App

I also love Slack.  Love slack for delegating work, steamlining emails, keeping client data in one place.  Organization.

Love share file for encrypted files. Safe data sharing.

Love Invoice sherpa for automating invoices/reminders/etc.

Love Collbox for collecting the uncollectables after using invoice Sherpa

Love ledgersync for statement collection for credit unions (like hubdoc) but cheaper!

Love Tsheets

As you can see, I love automation!

Re: Favorite App

@Anonymous is very responsive to his business. He is hands on.  Their company is so helpful when a customer’s bank connection disconnects.  The program is easy to use and solves the problem of a credit union that hubdoc does not connect to. And is much more affordable.

I love the big banks for the automation piece, but I love the credit unions for the personalized connection you get from them. I am a Bank of America customer and they don’t know me at all.  I also have a business account with a credit union and I feel special there.  They are so good to my husband and I.  They know us by name.  So I tend to recommend them to my customers.
