Happy Holidays and a warm welcome to the QuickBooks Community!
Getting started with new software is always exciting :). Are you new to accounting software, QuickBooks as a whole or just QuickBooks Online? What are you planning to use the program for?
If you want to see what a (mostly) filled out company profile looks like, you can take a Test Drive of the software.
Hope this helps, I look forward to hearing about what you want to get out of QBO!
Welcome to the community and to QuickBooks! In addition to James comments, we also have a learn and support site here that might be helpful: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-and-support/. Also, if you are stuck, don't hesitate to ask questions here in the community - we have many members who can give tips and tricks. Best,
I will embed an overview video below. This will give you a good idea of what you want to learn first.
QuickBooks has a lot of powerful features. I recommend you start with the functions that are most crucial to your business, whether that's invoicing, banking or recording your bills.
The "QuickBooks Basics" Tutorials are chapters 2,3 and 4 :). Hope this helps!
Question moved to "Questions about QuickBooks" for assistance from our expert members
My pleasure, getting started with new software is so much fun! This might give away my age, but I remember how excited I was when I first installed Encarta on Windows 3.1 as a child.
What does your business do, Kathy?
I currently have a number of YouTube videos on my channel - search 'PJCO accountants' in YouTube! Don't forget to 'Like' and 'Subscribe' for future updates and new videos too!
That's awesome. Do you have any short summaries of your videos so the knowledge can help other users on the platform? Anything in particular that might be useful to @KathyFG and other new members?
Feel free to embed your video in a post with some context and background, but please do not link out as it violates our community policies.
Some of our videos include some basic getting started help as well as some more complex issues involving QuickBooks Online. I can't actually find a way to 'embed' my videos but as I said if you search on YouTube 'PJCO accountants' our channel will be the first result.
Thanks for letting me know. When you create a post on the community, you have three tab options: rich text, HTML, and preview. Most people use rich text (unless you are a nerd like me and like to write in HTML!).
Go to the HTML tab, copy the "embed code" from a YouTube clip (click "share" on the video page) and post it here. We'd love to see a little summary as well (again, considering our community policies)!
Thanks for the instructions. Please (hopefully) find a link to one of my YouTube videos. This is a video that is viewed by a lot of my clients for allocating VAT payments and refunds in QuickBooks Online. Thought this may be of use to a lot of VAT registered companies in the coming week. Enjoy!
