Hi there, tamicass. Since your auto-tracking is already enabled, but trips aren't appearing, this is likely due to your device's background permission settings.
To ensure the QuickBooks mobile app continuously tracks all your trips, it requires constant access to your device’s location and sensors. Follow these steps to optimize your settings for consistent tracking:
If you’re using iOS:
- Open your device’s Settings.
- Scroll down and tap on the QuickBooks app.
- Click Location and select Always.
- Make sure Motion & Fitness, Background App Refresh, and Cellular Data are all toggled ON.
When a system prompt appears regarding background location use, select Always Allow. Avoid choosing While Using the App or Only While Using, as these options prevent tracking when you switch to another app or lock your screen.
For Android, steps may vary because devices use different operating systems. I recommend following Google's instructions. Also, using a Wi-Fi hotspot while driving can interfere with trip recording. Keep Wi-Fi on for accuracy, but avoid active hotspot connections during travel.
If the issue persists, follow the remaining steps starting with Step 4 in this article: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks mobile app.
