Hello,

I am try to import invoice instead adding one by one manually.

I noticed there is a sample invoice format for me download, however, I look the format there are

lots of filed for me to fill in, such as " invoice date","invoice no.", "terms"...and so on.

But, there is no "PO no.", which I customized, for me to fill in.

How can I import invoice come with this specific field " PO NO" ? I don't want to fill it one by one.

Re: import invoice with a custom field

Thanks for clarifying, dchen16.

If you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced, the following columns are only included during the import flow:

  • Invoice number
  • Customer
  • Invoice date
  • Due date
  • Item amount

Though you set up P.O number as a Custom field in an invoice, still you need to enter them manually once you imported the transactions. You can check out this article for more details about importing invoices in bulk: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Income-and-expenses/Importing-invoices-in-bulk/m-p/185742.

You might want to visit our Intuit App Store. You can look there for a third-party application compatible with QBO that can help you import invoices with the custom field for P.O number into your account.

Re: import invoice with a custom field

Hello,

You have probably customized one of the "Custom" fields in QBO to show the label PO No.

What you do is on your MS Word template, change the name of the field from Custom 1 to PO No.  Then, during the import process, map the Custom 1 field to the label you changed it for PO No.

Re: import invoice with a custom field

Hello,

Sorry, I am not very clear what you say, would you pls give me more details?

I don't have MS Word template, I import invoice via CSV that download from import "DATA feature".

During the import process, there is no label "PO NO"  in the quickbook field for me to choose.

I want to know how can I change the quickbook field as attachment.

Re: import invoice with a custom field

Hi there, dchen16.

You can use a DOCX format from Word to import custom form styles into QuickBooks Online.

You can check out this article for the steps and details on how to import custom form styles for invoices: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.

Re: import invoice with a custom field

Hello,

You seem to misunderstand what I mean, I don't want to import a custom field to my invoice  cause I already have a custom field in my invoice, which name of "PO No".

I want to import an invoice. When I import invoice from the CSV format, there are fields for me to fill in such as " invoice date", invoice no."... and so on. Thus, I can get an auto-invoice with invoice date, NO., amount ... but the "PO no." is empty. It is because there is no field for me to fill in while I proceed with the import process.  And I don't want to fill it manually.

I guess this is because"PO no." is a custom field. So there is no field in the CSV format.

Am I correct? is there anyway can solve it?
