Importing Data into QB from Excel

I would like to DL statement data into excel and then use the index/match function to match the transaction to different expense accounts.  I'd like to take that data and then import to QB's ledger.

How can I do this?

Importing Data into QB from Excel

Hello @mo600,

You can import and export list data from excel into QuickBooks. There is a standard import process and more advanced options depending on how detailed you want to get. And just in case you need it, these are the different file types you can use to import/export transactions

What specific transaction data are you trying to match? Is it something you could run with reports?

Importing Data into QB from Excel

I want to have all the detail for invoices and the customer payments that apply to those invoices. I also want to have the same level of detail for the bill payments I have made to vendors. I am converting from Sage 50 to Enterprise Desktop 2018.

Importing Data into QB from Excel

Hi there BookSmart,

I'd like to share some details about converting Sage 50 data into QuickBooks Desktop.

The details that show on the transactions coming from Sage 50 will depend on the available fields for the transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. To make sure the data are converted properly, you can use the QuickBooks Conversion Tool:

Convert from Sage 50 using QuickBooks Conversion Tool.

By using this tool, you'll be able to import business data, account balances, and transactions from Sage 50.

Please keep me posted if you need further help with converting the data. Wishing you all the best.
