Inventory Start up with SKU system

Hello,

Does any one know a person in the Kansas City area that has experience with setting up inventory sku system for a warehouse/ manufacturing business for the first time? And would be willing to set down with us and give us a good head start?

Inventory Start up with SKU system

Hi Matt_DS,

Welcome to the Community. I'm glad to help point you in the right direction.

I'd suggest consulting with a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. A ProAdvisor is an accounting professional who is trained in the ins-and-outs of QuickBooks. This link allows you to enter your zip code to locate ProAdvisors in your area: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/find-an-accountant/.

They'll be able to help you out with setting up your inventory sku system.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions.

Inventory Start up with SKU system

Hi Matt,

I don’t know anyone in Kanas City sorry. But, unless I’ve misunderstood what you mean, setting up SKUs for your inventory is pretty straight forward (and are used for tracking your inventory or services).

You'll need to manually enter the SKU's.

Here's how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Select Product and Services.
  3. Click on Edit, under Action.
  4. Enter the SKU's.
  5. Click on Save and close.

If you’re having a writer's block, there are SKU generators online that can help you make these SKU’s (FYI: it’s an external link).

If you’re a manufacturer you can check out the QuickBooks App Store for inventory management that can help you set SKUs for your raw materials and finished goods, like Katana Smart Manufacturing Software.
