Job costing and final billing

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to stop me from assigning expenses to a job if the job is still active, so for instance we have a job that has been closed and we have invoiced, but are still waiting on payment so it is still an 'active' job, but if someone tries to assign a lingering expense we hadn't caught earlier, I want to see if there is a way to prevent that or give a warning since we have already invoiced.

Hi @a11yannb,

I'll take care of this query for you.

The option to prevent other users from posting a transaction to a section of your books they have access to is unavailable. The same goes for a warning message you mentioned.

We always appreciate our customers sharing ideas for possible features. With that said, we'll keep this in mind.

I'll share this article in case you decide to edit your reports for jobs: Customize customer, job, and sales reports in QuickBooks Desktop. There are several types of reports listed, as well as their steps on how to generate them.
