Join nowWhen I make an invoice and print a packing slip everything looks great. The item/service and description is listed, the style of the form matches the invoice.
However, when I make an estimate and convert that to an invoice and print a packing slip, the packing slip does not match the style and does not have key information such as item/service. It only has the description.
I have noticed this issue since October, thought it was glitch that would be fixed but has not. Anyone else experiencing this?
PS. I have already cleared my cache, used a different browser, deleted my original form for invoice & estimate and remade them.
Hello sarenagrewal1,
We currently have an on-going issue where QuickBooks Online users experience missing items on the packing slip. Rest assured that our engineers are working on a fix.
As a workaround, use a template other than Airy classic and if you're not using the progress invoicing feature (partial invoices), turn progress invoicing off and create invoices from the estimates as normal.
Also, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Customer Care so they can add your account to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive an email regarding the issue once updates become available.

Hello,
I am having this issue with invoices stemming from an estimate. Everything looks fine on the screen but the item/service will not print on the actual invoice. I'm using desktop contractor 2018. For example: Mechanical & Plumbing:Materials is my desired item but the only thing that will print under items is Materials. So any subcategories will print but not the main category.
Hello,
I am having the same issue with invoices created from estimates. Everything looks great on the screen but when you print it will only print sub category info not the main and sub category. For example: Mechanical & Plumbing:Materials - only materials will print under item. I am using desktop vs of contractor 2018
Happy holidays, Darcie.
Allow me to share some information about the missing parent item when printing invoices in QuickBooks Desktop.
For now, printing invoices to show the parent item with the sub-item isn't available in QuickBooks Desktop. However, you can put a description to identify the sub-item. I can definitely see how this feature would be useful. As a team with a massive roadmap, we have to pick new features based on the value they’ll add to the most users possible
I encourage you to send feedback regarding features and options you'd like to see implemented in future product updates. Here's how:
