Price Rules

I have setup PRICE RULES but they do not seem to work with time entered by my employees using "weekly timesheets" or "single time entries".

It seems to work when I create the invoice then manually add entries - but this defeats the purpose of having emplyees enter their timesheets.

Price Rules

Hello and welcome to the Community, rolson_roicg.

I'm here to provide some additional clarification on your Price Rules concern.

Currently, the Price rules feature is only available for your customers listed in QuickBooks Online. Right now, applying discounts for a specific product is unavailable for your employees.

I've added this request myself on our own internal product enhancement list. We'll be sending this directly to our Product Development Team.

I also recommend you send feedback about this feature by clicking the Gear icon and selecting Feedback. The more suggestions we receive, the better it is to improve our products.

Please let me know what else I can do to help you with the QuickBooks product. Wishing you all the best.

Price Rules

My company has the QuickBooks Online Plus Plan and we are experiencing the same issue as reported when employees enter their hours.  We created rules to have adjusted prices on specific clients.  When employees enter their hours to these clients, the adjusted prices are not being reflected, the original sale prices is being captured.  Any help is greatly appreciated as we are super excited about this offering.

Price Rules

Hello there, @brookelane555.

Allow me to give a few details about entering hours for your employees.

When your employee enters their billable hours, the original price appears. This is because billable hours has its own rate and doesn’t follow any price rules.

As mentioned by my colleague above, the Price Rules currently apply only to customers. If you wish to enter adjusted rates on your employee’s billable hours, you’ll need to calculate and enter them manually.

The rate you enter for the hours is then used when creating their invoices.

Please don’t hesitate to comment below if you have any other concerns.

Please enable Price Rules for Vendors and allow those rates to be attached to time sheets for Vendors.

I am on the phone with customer support for the same issue. We are suing TSheets and then syncing with QBO via Appriving Hours process. When the hours come through they have the standard pricng instead of pricing rules applied by client. I also notice that price rules does not appy to client projects but rather at the client level. All of this requires us to manually adjust prices by line item selecting the appropriate rates that are listed under Price rules. The drop down feature is nice but the process to adjust every line item is too time consuming.

Sadly QB is not concerned with this issue as it has been brought to them for a few YEARS! Having the Rules attach to the Time Tracking is HUGE. I wonder if this is Intuits way to push us and clients to use Fee Based Apps, like T-Sheets. Could it be about the money and not the need??

Im super disappointed in the lack of interest in what we really need. Seems more time and money is spent on useless features like "TAGS".

Intuit please start listening to what we really need and not silly stuff dreamed up in a boardroom by people that obviously dont know what Bookkeeping entails.

Sorry :(
