QB Desktop for Mac - Add/Edit Multiple List Entries?

I have several hundred items in my item list that need cost / price modifications.  Is there an easy way to do this in QB Desktop for Mac?  I can edit prices in a spreadsheet form by clicking the "settings" (gear) icon at the bottom of the item list window however the list is jumbled and cannot be sorted making very, very difficult to edit.  Also - I cannot edit item costs from this spreadsheet, only prices.

I found this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/manage-lists/add-and-edit-multiple-customers-vendo... and it is tagged for QB Desktop for Mac however I cannot find "Add/Edit Multiple List Entries" anywhere!

QB Desktop for Mac - Add/Edit Multiple List Entries?

Hi @AtlantaBIRT,

I'll share insight on this query you have about the items list.

Other than the option you mentioned, there isn't a different way available to edit an item list by batch. A workaround I can provide is to import those same items you wish to edit their costs via a spreadsheet. This will override the previous version of the items with the same name.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu.
  2. Select Items.
  3. From the + icon, choose Import Items.
    • Pick the Item type.
    • Enter all the required information.
    • Tick the Import checkbox next to items you want to import.
    • Press the Import button.
    • The next window will show how many items are imported. Choose the Fix Errors button if not all items were imported.

Take a look at this article for additional information: Add, edit, and delete items. You'll find 2 sets of steps, which are for Windows and Mac.
