QB Enterprise, Advanced Pricing Module: quantity and % discounts

We have QB Enterprise Advanced Pricing module. Price Rules is enabled. Price Lists is not enabled. We have set up the attached price rule but need to apply a quantity condition to it as well. We want the customer to have to purchase a minimum of 120 quantity in order to receive the discounted price. How do we add a quantity condition to this rule?

QB Enterprise, Advanced Pricing Module: quantity and % discounts

Hi cw1967,

I also like the idea of incorporating quantity conditions into the Price Rule. However, the rule strictly applies to prices only. The workaround is to change the item's price on the transaction back to the base rate if the quantity is less than 120.

On the other hand, I would recommend submitting a suggestion to add a quantity condition to a price rule. You'll want to click on Help, select Send Feedback Online, and then Product Suggestion.

If you want to see some references for QuickBooks Enterprise, just go to the main support page and select the said product. Or, press F1 on your keyboard while in QuickBooks and search for the topics you like.

QB Enterprise, Advanced Pricing Module: quantity and % discounts

Good day, and welcome to the Community, cw1967.

I can help you add quantity discounts to the items you set for price rules.

With Price Rules, you have an option and precision to set conditions for when QuickBooks changes an item price. Also, you can apply quantity discounts using Advanced Pricing. Let me show you how to set quantity discounts.

  1. Go to the Lists menu and click Item List.
  2. Double-click on the item you want to set a discount for.
  3. Click Qty Discount.
  4. In the Qty From column, enter the minimum number a customer must purchase to receive the discount.
  5. Under the Discount % column and enter the discount either as a discount percent, a fixed price, a markup percent, or a margin percent.
  6. Click OK to save.

The moment you add this item to your sales transactions, the amounts will automatically be calculated based on the conditions you set and the quantity discount you created.

For more insights about Advanced Pricing, I'm adding the article I recommend on this: Use Advanced Pricing.

You can check out these links in case you need to add columns in your sales forms and track your inventory:

Thank you Catherine. We know how to set up quantity discount. My issue is that I need to know how to add a quantity condition to a price rule for a specific customer.

Please see attachment. How do I add a quantity condition to the shown price rule.

I want the specified customer to have to purchase a 120 qty in order to receive the $45.00 off discount shown. Can you add a quantity condition, for a specific customer, to a price rule? If so, how?

Thank you!
