Quick Books point of sale, selling various units of sale of same item - ie - item #123 basic unit is yard, but also sell 1/2 yard and 1/4 yd with a different #. I want to print UPC tags for the two sub units of measure and cannot figure how to do that

to further explain, under units the main unit is yard,  two sub units are .5 yd and .25 yd.  All three have UPC's and are scanned in our register but I cannot figure how to print the labels for the sub units.

Hi there, @PATR1.

Thank you for adding a post. I can share with you some information about printing UPC tags with QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS).

Usually, POS will print just the default selling unit of measure. If you need to print tag for those different units, you can create a group for each unit of measure.

To create a group:

  1. Click on Add New Item.
  2. Instead of the default Inventory, select Group
  3. Enter the Dept and a description.
  4. Click on Edit/Add Items in Group.

  5. Select the item and the unit of measure for the group.

  6. Hit Save when done.

Then you can print tags for the group and scan them at the register.

For more tips about managing items and other transactions in POS, I recommend checking out these links:
