Quickbooks Advanced backup does not support QBO format ?

Hi

I am using Advanced version of QBO (US version). I have taken the local back to my Google-drive where I can see the backup files in .csv format .

I wanted to import only the invoices using the Tools >  import Data menu > Invoices.  but the file format is entirely different hence not possible to do the import. The exported file format is not supporting to import back.

The exported data does not support Quickbooks format.

Also  using export data > Tools - Export data (https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportdata) I am not able to export the invoice as we don't have an option to export the invoices.

Quickbooks Advanced backup does not support QBO format ?

I'm here to help you with importing your invoice transactions to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @SuperStar777.

If the system doesn't support your backup file or exported data, you need to revise the format so you can import your invoices to QBO. You download the sample file as your reference. I'll guide you on how.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Import data under Tools.

  3. Click on Invoices.

  4. Tap on the Download sample CSV link.

Then, compare your invoice data to the supported format you've downloaded. Once done, you're now ready to map and upload your file to QuickBooks.

Aside from your backup file, you can also run the Transaction List by Customer report to export your invoices to Excel. From the report's page, filter the Transaction Type to Invoices. Then, export the details to Excel.

If you have any other follow-up questions about exporting your QBO invoices, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!

@SuperStar777

Utilize the trial version of this importer tool to isolate the issue. If the same error persists, something wrong with the exported invoice data.

I'm determined to improve your impression of our support, @SuperStar777.

I appreciate you for using our backup features and all the steps you'd done with this issue. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to import the invoices in your QuickBooks Online Advance without a moment's delay.

Here are some things you can check on your data so you can import the invoices into your account swiftly.

  • The file format should CSV. Then your CSV file must include columns for Invoice Number, Customer, Invoice Date, Due Date, and Item Amount.
  • In the Taxable column, enter “Y” if the item is taxable or “N” if it’s not.
  • Your CSV file can have no more than 1,000 rows.

Once you have everything in order, you can now re-import the invoices. For more details about importing, visit this page: Import multiple invoices at once.

If the issue persists after confirming the information outlined above and trying the suggested app by Fiat Lux - ASIA, I'd recommend contacting our technical support. They have available tools to do screen sharing and investigate your exported invoice data. Thus, you can upload your data as soon as possible.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then click Contact Us
  2. Type your concern in the box and tap Let's talk
  3. Choose either Get a call or Start a chat
  4. Complete the required data and submit the request.

Please call them within business hours to ensure we cater to your concern immediately.

Additionally, feel free to click these pages below about how to build customer custom reports, send multiple invoices, and other related matters.

I appreciate you for getting back, @SuperStar777. It's my priority to help you with importing your invoices to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, you won't be able to import your invoices if the format is not supported. For the time being, I recommend customizing the fields of your file to match the accepted fields in QBO.

I've provided the steps above on how you can download the sample file as your reference.

Moreover, here's how you can learn more about importing your invoices to QuickBooks: Import multiple invoices at once.

Please let me know if need more help with this. I'm determined to help. Keep safe!

Please read my posts before your reply.

In short, i don't want to customise the file. I just want to use the same exported files for the import.

I want to know If the exported file format is different and cant be used to import them then why I am paying additional usd 75 p/m ?

I wish I could make it better, @SuperStar777.

In QuickBooks Online, the exported file doesn't exactly match with the file requirements needed for the import. This is why it is recommended to customize your file first based on the required columns before importing the list of your invoice in batch.

On top of that, I've also included this reference helpful with the steps needed in accepting payments from your customers: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to post again here if you have other questions or concerns with QuickBooks tasks and navigations. I'm always around happy to help. Take care and stay safe!

@SuperStar777

Have you explored another backup restore app? It supports QBO Plus or lower plan.
