I really wish QuickBooks was more open to suggestions from us user's. Especially on ways to improve the software. Other software companies welcome suggestions with open arms. It would be very helpful to be able to copy a list of skews and be able to paste that into an open estimate. As the skews get pasted in one fell swoop the items would populate on the estimate. I work in a construction related field and my cad software is able to genrate a list of steel panel and trim items. My macros create the skews we use in quickbooks as well as descriptions, quantities, cost and mark-up. I can convert that info to text that I can copy and paste into Excel or pehaps other programs.

If you're using QuickBooks Online you're welcome to submit your suggested feature here, or see if others have requested the same functionality and "upvote" their recommendation. If not specifically for QBO, your feedback can be submitted here.

It sounds like what your requiring from QuickBooks is quite industry specific. I would recommend that you take a look in the QuickBooks App store to see if there is any applications that you can integrate into the system. An effective solution for helping people new to quickbooks, or rolling out new features and may save call center and help time is to enable and link various functions so that when you "right click" on a certain function or parameter or option it will be linked to a pop up of either a video or article or instructions on how to use the function, the benefits or draw backs of it or how it's linked to other options, etc etc...this function was available in another program and it was incredibly helpful, a time saver both for the customer and probably for your call center/help desk.
